The new one feels a bit different, but not in a bad way. There's still a lot of similarities and only trolls say it sucks and is nothing like DMC should be.

I would recommend getting the HD collection as the games are pretty good. I mean you don't need to know the story for the new game, but it's good to play them anyway. DMC1 has aged quite a bit but is still really cool. DMC2 isn't a complete disaster but is notably disappointing when you consider how the first game was. DMC3 is much improved and pretty long and challenging.

Im sure you'll love 3. I personally didnt like 1 and thought 3 was eh. I love the new DmC though.
