There are a lot of games on both consoles today that are doing things that people never thought was possible several years ago. This happens every generation. Programming techniques evolve. Hardware secrets and shortcuts are discovered. When is the last time that we have seen overall console graphic and technical performance DECLINE over the life of a console. It doesn't.....It improves.
Also, keep in mind that Kojima was essentially an extension of Sony. He was their P.R. mouthpiece for that game at the time. Did anybody actually expect him to say that the chief competitor of the PS3 could successfully run the game that Sony had been claiming for so long was a showcase for the PS3's unique power????
Get real. It was marketing B.S.
And we all know that Sony has a terrible track record of over-promising and exaggerating the specs and performance of their products.
