Remember back when you got a Playstation 1 and then went to buy FF VII?

Unfortunately no. I was only 7 back then and didnt play video games yet. I had those feelings on the ps2 though. Before i had a ps2 i had only played stupid games just to pass the time. Nothing in depth like an rpg. That is until i played FFX. That was probably the first moment i had back then like you described tc.

Im 22 now and dont get excited for games anymore. Maybe cheap thrills like the newest cod or madden but nothing deeper than that. I dont have time for in depth omg moment games anymore.

I got FFVII for free from my brother's friend. At first I was just borrowing it, but then it became "Meh, you can keep it". It was as good as new when he gave it to me, scratched to the point it wouldn't run by the time I beat the game. Yeah, I never took care of my games back then ("back then" being, like, 2007).

Anyway, Tekken Tag 2 was probably the most hyped I've been for a long time. I was disappointed.

I remember it very well. I also remember trading it in a week later for The Legend of Dragoon.

After FF4 and FF6, my hopes for FF7 were very high. Unfortunately, I found the game to be disappointing. The fact that you could only have 3 party members was a letdown, and the plot was a contrived mess. There were some good aspects to the game, specifically the music and the materia system, but after beating the game, I went right back to the SNES FF games and admitted to myself that they were superior in just about every way.

I never bought a Final Fantasy game or got excited for one as a kid. That was more my cousin's thing. Grandia was my game.
