POLL: Do you want swearing in video games?

#11NightwishPosted 11/30/2012 1:06:50 AM
I think gaming has evolved into using swearing and vulgarity to further the story in certain circumstances (GTA San Andreas is a perfect example of this) using swears just for the sake of being edgy or 'mature' is just stupid and i feel really stupid playing games like those.

GTA: SA is about gangsters, of course they swear. I suppose next you'll say they kill people and sell drugs just to be edgy?

And it still feels stupid.

As for the topic itself, no. It's really not needed at all.

Only if I'm playing House of the Dead: Overkill, otherwise, no.
Certainly not when the main character and the boss start cursing with the exact same line repeated thrice before battle.

It would have been weird not hearing Al Pacino's character swear in the Scarface game

I don't have a problem with swearing as long as it doesn't sound immature or out of place... It should have a place and time and not just feel like it's there to be there... It's the same with nudity don't just have it just to have it....
