Worst Game Ending of All Time

#1HOTJaVaLaVaPosted 12/2/2012 8:05:06 AM
So you just finished a game that you invested numerous hours in. You get to the final boss or sequence and completely dominate. Then you watch the ending, and you think "What the heck was that?" "I did all of that for THAT???" or even "Well that was dumb....."

I'm sure we've all had a few of those games that we've beaten and absolutely hated the ending. Even really great games have bad endings, so no game is safe, that is for sure. All discussion is welcome!

Any old-school game that ended with a badly spelled "Thanks for playing!" on a blank screen.

Dead Rising 2 ending A left me completely p***ed off. But ending S made up for it :)

Bubble Bobble's single player ending.
Fight your way through something like 100 levels and be greeted with:

"BAD END
This is not a true ending!
Try again with your friend."

Granted, there are plenty of worse non-endings, but this one annoyed me the most.

I never liked it when the game turned out to be a dream. I know it doesn't matter much but it's still a bit cheap. SMB2 and Secret of Evermore are guilty of this there could be others.

LA Noire

*spoilers ahead for those who haven't played*

Cole Phelps dying just felt like a cheap way out. Dunno what it is with R* and the main/major character character dying but whatever. I would of preferred a final stand-off between Cole and Roy Earle/police department or something.

It was a great game other than that.

I'll agree with this for sure. I was like "WTF just happened???" Cole did all of that for absolutely nothing. Most of the crime bosses and crooked cops never got what was coming to them. I was rattled.

Jurassic Park on the SNES

To make matters worse, there were no save points, so the game had to be completed in one sitting =/
I remember renting this game every weekend for like a year and I never did manage to beat it.
