I just got the Sony PS3 3D display. Mind you, I didnt buy it primarily for 3D. So far ive played Motorstorm: Apocalypse and CoD:BO2 in 3D, and honestly, I dont think 3D enhances the experience at all. It was cool for motorstorm, worked well. As for CoD, its pretty much a disadvantage for the person using it(online). Im sure playing the campaign might be a different story, but I found 3D online to be somewhat useless and even a nuisance. Uncharted 3 will probably be the next game I try in 3D. Does anyone generally prefer playing in 3D?
Not for me. Honestly it gives me a headache after 15 minutes or so. I have a 3D HDTV and a 3DS and never use the 3D on either one of them, not even for blu-rays on the 3D HDTV. It gets distracting pretty fast. Not sure if it's my eyes or what but I can't enjoy it for more long.
I'll give any game i get with 3D capabilities a shot with it because, 'I can, so why not?', and I'm pretty mixed with my feelings.
Uncharted 3 was easily the best I've personally seen; especially the the cruise ship section. I was pretty big into Dungeon Defenders for a few months and that looked good, too. The Sly Cooper and Ico & SotC collections were seemed decent to me, iirc, as well.
Many times the 3D experience is only for 1 sit down with a game, though (Killzone 3, Resistance 3, GT5, Gears of War 3) . I had heard good things about Super Stardust HD and MLB; The Show, but neither of those stuck with me, either. My worst experience was with AC: Revelations. I played the first 2 hours with 3D on and had a the worst splitting headache of my life behind my eyes for the rest of the day. I haven't gotten to AC3 yet, and i don't know if it has 3D or not, but after AC:R, I don't care and won't give it a chance if it does.
Ps3 can't handle 3d... simple as that. Not only does 3d take away resources that could and should be used for the game... it also makes the graphics terrible. The aliasing is always worse, the textures horribly downgraded.
U3 looks rubbish in 3d... all games do. Resistance 3 looks like a ps2 gane in 3d... everything has to be rendered 2 times and that results in a less graphics heavy game but a more a more strenuous game to run on the ps3 architecture.
I own a 3d tv... a fantastic one. I bought into it all... after playing it and experiencing it I realized it made the experience worse on both ends. With and without 3d on.
