Ps3 can't handle 3d... simple as that. Not only does 3d take away resources that could and should be used for the game... it also makes the graphics terrible. The aliasing is always worse, the textures horribly downgraded.

U3 looks rubbish in 3d... all games do. Resistance 3 looks like a ps2 gane in 3d... everything has to be rendered 2 times and that results in a less graphics heavy game but a more a more strenuous game to run on the ps3 architecture.

I own a 3d tv... a fantastic one. I bought into it all... after playing it and experiencing it I realized it made the experience worse on both ends. With and without 3d on.

but 3d blurays look sick though

Yes, movies... my post was covering just games. I agree, movies do look sharp in 3d.

It basically just depends on the person & the game.

Some people really like the option to play in 3D (myself included), and some do not.
So if you ask the people that like 3D, then they will say "yes" and the people that don't will say "no."
Its all subjective (opinion).

And then you run into variations of quality of 3D depending on the game.
Some games do it well and some do it poorly.
If the game was built from the ground up to accommodate 3D then the effects will look much better than the games that weren't.
Black Ops wasn't really made for 3D but was just added on, so its not going to impress anyone with its use of 3D.
However, a game like Resistance 3 was made from the ground up with 3D in mind so the 3D effect is much more impressive.

So some games do 3D very well, and some do it poorly or mediocre.
Whether or not its worth it to play in 3D is entirely up to the individual playing.
For me personally, the answer would be an emphatic "YES !"

But people need to keep in mind (especially the nay-sayers) that it is entirely optional.
Just because a game offers 3D doesn't mean you have to take advantage of it...and even those that do like it have the choice of turning it on or off.
Choice is a good thing.
I respect your decision to not play in 3D, but by the same token I expect you to respect my decision to play in 3D if I want to.
It's no different than Motion Controls, Rumble/ Vibration feedback, or even a touch-screen.....meaning that it is just a method of immersing the player further into the game.
And it is purely optional.

I does quite a bit. On my TV, I've noticed that the game looks a lot more vibrant when the 3D is on. Everything looks awesome. My TV also turns 2D into 3D (I'm sure other TVs do this too), and sometimes I turn it on just because of the way the games look when it's on.

Considering it gives me eye spasms and headaches, I'd say it's a significant detriment to the gaming experience.

As far as I'm concerned there is no good 3d currently in existence. It always looks like layers of depth instead of real depth, and the effect makes my eyes feel crossed. I can't wait till it gets phased out

With exception of maybe a handful of 3DS games (and even that is arguable), I would say no. It is certainly different but I wouldn't call it an enhancement; I would prefer to refer to it as an unnecessary distraction.

It's fun for about one minute. At which point you realize it is a pointless gimmick that really adds nothing to the games and turn it off.
