When it says that a game is free, I thought, if I buy the PS plus service, I can DL the game and play it whenever I want, even after I am no longer a membership. Then I read somewhere that I can only play that free game if I am a PS plus member, and will not be able to play after my PS Plus membership expires. So which is it?

Also had a question about how the funds work, got the 20$ voucher in Nov, does this 20 have a expiry date? or will it just sit there forever?

Yes,you need an active PS+ membership to play the free games because, that is a perk of being a member. The voucher you got from PSN is good till you use it I don't think there is a date on it.

This. I was disappointed when I found out that you need an active PS+ account in order to play the downloaded game. I should've seen it coming before

Thanks for the info.

Thought the service sounded too good to be true haha, not interested in it anymore lol.

That's good to hear, cause there is nothing I rly want to spend the 20$ on, rite now, so I will just wait.

Thanks for being living proof of the point I made in another topic about how PS plus offerings aren't free and that labeling it that would confuse consumers.

Good thing you didn't buy first and ask later.

Those vouchers DO expire, and honestly.. it is ridiculous that you don't want plus anymore. The amount of new content every month easily outweighs the cost. Especially if you get the year subscription for $50.. that is a little over $4 a month.

Oh man, another dumb topic. People like TC probably are the type that want everything to be handed to them.

PS+ has saved me a lot of money on game discounts alone since I became a member at the beginning.

Sorry if you were completely oblivious to how the service works. Just because what you imagined isn't what it actually is, doesn't make it too good to be true. What you call "true", was something you made up in your head.

You mean I can't pay 17.99, download hundreds of dollars worth of games, and keep them forever?! Aw man what a ripoff! /sarcasm

some people are just clueless when it comes to PS+.Why would Sony allow to keep the free games that are part of the subscription if you cancel your subscription.
