Is the Mass Effect Trilogy worth it if I don't like sci-fi-ish games?

I've never played a Mass Effect games but 3 games for the price of one seems like a great deal and I'd be willing to play a new series. I also read that the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 is running on Mass Effect 3's engine. What difference does that makes?

They aren't worth it if you do like sci-fi games.

ummmm. If you don't like sci fi games, then its really hard to recommend ME trilogy.
I'm a gamer dang it, not a pc gamer or a console gamer, just a gamer.

If the sci-fi setting is a big turn-off, it might not be your cup of tea. It's not hard sci-fi, but very much space opera with an RPG/FPS in there (1 is more RPGish, 2-3 are more FPSish).

That being said, they're solid games marred by a very unfortunate conclusion.

Well I played through some of Knights of the Old Republic (the old one) and I liked it. They're both made by Bioware so are they similar?

Get it for the xbox 360 version not the PS3 version?

Mas effect 3 will have lots of problems running on the PS3.

TC, if you are a fan of RPGs (and WRPGs, specifically), you will probably still like the series.

ME has a very generic sci-fi setting, so I don't see how you'd be able to enjoy it.
