Killingjoke_666Posted 12/4/2012 7:28:12 AM | I always wanted to get into the series but DEmons Souls with all that info off builfding each ability was overwhelming. Im tired from work when I get home and I dont want to read all that to understand how to build my character. Maybe Im looking too much into it. The game looks really good , I'll give it a try again sometime.
Right now thats why I like to unwind with Mario kart 7, UMVC 3 and gonna start Resident Evil Revelations --- Otto: Wow! I had Mustard?! |
MrMikeMaPosted 12/4/2012 7:39:32 AM | I voted great, but not one of the best for a couple of reasons.
I have and love both games, and have beaten neither, but what I don't like is that while I appreciate a game that does not hold your hand, at the same time it is REALLY, REALLY hard to figured out all the secrets on your own. Nothing worse than secrets that stay secret.
It's very easy to get stuck on these games, and it really doesn't always mean it's because you suck. The game can really become a grind.
I'm stuck on Old King Allant in Demon's souls, for example. I cannot for the life of me beat the guy. I cannot even get more than a couple hits on the guy. I try to leave out stones to get help, but unfortunately there are less players online to help me. Then I get invaded. I've even broken down and looked up some tips, but still cannot beat the guy. I've pretty much done everything else. So, what now? Do I grind old levels and try to level up and keep risk getting levels drained. It becomes annoying to keep having to track up to the guy, only to lose in a couple of seconds as you do more trial and error based on what has worked for others.
And on Dark Souls, I've hit a roadblock on so many areas, I don't know which way to turn.
You get to a point where you wonder if the time you are spending is just quantity and not quality. --- my Bayonetta tattoo http://www.flickr.com/photos/28411423@N08/5754030343/ |
zUkUuPosted 12/4/2012 7:41:47 AM | Soul games are 50% skill and 50% try and error, you can beat the game at level 1 - both of them. In dark souls you have to actually listen what the npcs tell you, they'll give you a clue where to head next. |
lninjasoniclPosted 12/4/2012 7:58:26 AM | another dark souls reassurance topic...... smh
and yes it was a good game --- I once worked with a guy for three years and never learned his name. Best friend I ever had. We still never talk sometimes. |
