I dislike bad games, and most JRPGs this gen on the PS3 have been bad. Thus, I dislike most JRPGs this gen. However, I don't dislike Japanese games since my favorite franchises (Metal Gear, Pokemon) are Japanese. So, yeah...

There's a blind one sided hate on bad games here though

Unless you thought Rogue Warrior and Conflict Denied Ops were good games

I kind of always thought the weird Japanese fanservice games were in appropriate. Even as a kid, seeing the kind of weird semi-porn stuff were in games, I was like "Wow, this is really shameful."

Part of it is a cultural thing, I guess, what's acceptable in japan can be considered perverted insanity in the Western world. But outside the internet, I've never heard anyone say people should go to jail for playing those kind of games. You might be exaggerating a bit.

Except it's not acceptable in Japan. They are called Otaku for a reason. It' be like saying everyone in the U.S. that are adults love comic books and child beauty pageants. What you're looking at is niche which represents a very small community driven hobby. It doesn't even represent the majority of gaming there in general or Anime in general.
If the average Japanese game sells over 100K in Japan it's considered a success. Some games that sell 30K are considered a success there.
If a game sells that kinda number in the West its a failure. A game usually needs to break a million to be considered a success in the West.
Kingdoms of Amalur broke 1 million and the company still went under.
Japan has 127 Million people.
U.S. has 311 Million people.
Despite having half the population; that's still a considerably large population crammed in that small of a country in comparison to the U.S.

You do the math.

I don't understand your argument. Yes, Otaku are not the majority. And?

My point wasn't that everyone in Japan is perverted, it was that the TC was exaggerating a bit in saying that people call you a rapist and say you should go to prison.

Is there really anybody in their right mind who'd be pleased to play that game?

Japs and their gaijin worshippers.

Yes let's throw racist comments into the mix while we're at it that always helps. The irony being you insulting people by using a Japanese term yet your username is Japanese...

Really? Because on GameFaq it seems to be the other way around.

It's really not.

Well, technically it's more like half-JRPG hate and half-JRPG fans arguing amongst themselves about differenct franchises.

No the majority of people on this board are anti Japanese game this gen. You can try to spin it all the way you want to fit into your argument but I keep track of the names and there are a lot in comparison to the supporters

Hmmm, crazy prepared I see.
I wouldn't know as much as you(or the statistics you've gathered).
But going by my experience here at the least.

Either way, I think both sides are equally stupid.

What do you mean by blind one sided hate? I'm probably one of the few people on here who likes FFXIII and XIII-2, even though those games are clearly much worse than your traditional FF (imo). I'm not so big on niche games (never was) but I did enjoy Valkyria Chronicles.

Some of you are real hypocrites....
You cry foul any time a very small group of people dislike some Japanese game, but don't care that the vast majority of Japanese gamers hate Western games.

A few people here hates a Japanese game and you get offended, but the Japanese culture being hateful of Western made games is somehow okay to you.

BTW
I don't "hate" any game just because of where it comes from.
But there are games that I do hate that are from Japan.
It's not where the game came from that I dislike, but the content of the game.

And please tell where all the supposed Japanese hate is coming from, because I do NOT see it, other than from a tiny miniscule of places that you actually have to go looking for to find it.
Yet you talk to anyone on the streets of Japan and you'll get real animosity for Western made games.

So there is a big double-standard here.
