I am just about to buy a 3D TV (Panasonic P55VT50) and I was wondering how the Ps3 is on handling 3D movies. I was wondering if the PS3 (120gb fat) is a sufficient 3D player or does it make more sense to buy a dedicated 3D bluray player for better picture quality. If it makes any difference, I will be running through Sony STR-DN1030 AVR receiver.
This is just my opinion. I don't care if you agree with me or not.

Bad. The PS3 cannot handle 3D and lossless sound at the same time.

It actually does a good job. There was a firmware update that allows for dts hd to be sent as lpcm. I would use my ps3 if I didnt already own an oppo BD player.

3D is the new HD/Bluray. When HD first came out people hated on it and said it was a gimmick and would never catch on. This board can't go 10 minutes without watching something in HD or they will cut their wrists.

Thank you. Seriously, if you don't like 3D, that's all good. But don't ruin everyone else's party; that's why there is a 2D option as well.
