Medal of Honor for PSX - raised the bar on WW2 shooters
FF7 - CGI cinematics
WoW - Everquest started it, but WoW is more worthy of mention
Super Mario 64 - Revolutionized 3D platformers
Metal Gear Solid - Made a genre
Ocarina of Time - Raised the bar on 3D action/adventure
Mortal Kombat - Realism and gore in fighting games
Metal Slug - Where bullet hell shooters originated (I think?) < Actually, Contra would be more appropriate, although I'm still not sure
Halo - Popularized story co-op
Battlefield 1942 - Physics and vehicles in multiplayer

this gen
half life 2- physics
league of legends- esports
angry birds- phone games

Half-Life 2 is a "last-gen" title - it was originally out on Xbox console-wise (though PC before that, obviously.)

I'm tempted to say Gears of War innovated the cover-based shooter and brought it really into mainstream usage, but who knows.

Goldeney - Every multiplayer FPS is built from this formula, imo.

GTA: 3 - Open world, very adult themes in a game went mainstream.

Mortal Kombat

Mario 64

Pokemon

Mass Effect-Revolutionized and popularized dialogue options

Rainbow Dash is best pony. The only argument I will accept is for Twilight Sparkle.
