Demon / Dark Souls fans, please explain why you don't want an easy mode....

......in the game.

I'm not talking about about the game being made easy or being forced to play it, but the addition of an easier mode for those more casual players out there. What makes you so against it?

If you need an easy mode, you don't deserve to play it.

No matter what, it would still effect the game's harsher difficulties, without a doubt.

Also, how can you tone down the difficulty pvp? Nerf the more experienced players stats and HP, or what?

Also, not to mention, many people would be tempted to play on the easier difficulty, especially on the more challenging parts.

Easy difficulty not needed. D Souls should be made for gamers, and it should not be gimped for grandmas and her dog to play too.

Care to explain why? or is that the general attitude of a souls fan who has no idea what he is talking about?

PVP could be split between the 2 difficulty settings, no need for them to be connected.

Make it so that you can never change difficulties on a character. If you are still tempted to play on an easier setting, then isn't that just your problem?

It's an online-based game, and it would split PvP (or, alternatively, people roll PvP characters on easy mode for easier leveling and whatnot). It's bad to have the PvP player base potentially split.

Some games are not meant to have easy modes. The Souls franchise is partly a horror game due to its themes. If you add an "easy mode", the people who use that mod are not getting the full experience of the game for the kind of game it is. It's not like an RPG, where the combat can often be meaningless compared to the plot and characters. The experience of spelunking through levels where creepies jump out and 1-shot you is part of the game, it's part of what makes you take every corner so goddamn slowly out of fear. If you add an "easy mode", you lose that.

Without the difficulty, the whole game falls apart.
Difficulty is not all it has to offer, but it is what holds it all together.
The combat, atmosphere, discovering etc., it'll be ruined by lowering the difficulty.

That might be true in some cases. Still, you are not forced to play on a lower difficulty setting, it would be there merely for those player who do not have the patience to die a lot and grind a bit in order to progress through the game.

Just imagine this, if Dark / Demon souls both had a somewhat easier mode which has a different online server or no online at all, and the default difficulty for these games remained the exact same, would you still oppose it?

games like dark souls need to be accepted as a whole. it's not a simple thing to make a game that finely balanced and then dumb it down for lazier players. i don't see why you should be pandered to in the first place. just get better at the game.
