There has to be a reason why in America the most sold game and most popular game is a VIOLENT M rated war fps game.
And even if CoD didn't exist all the other most popular games played by millions are always FPS or TPS games like Halo, Gears of War, Medal of Honor etc...
I mean there has to be something wrong if people like to spend hours/days/weeks levelling up their characters and just shooting and gunning down people in an online multiplayer. headshots, blood spraying, lifeless corpses lying on the ground.
Say what you want but you WILL get desensitized after a while of constantly playing this stuff.
And even if these games don't cause you to be violent or act violently in real life there is a problem if the general public accepts these types of games as "ok" because in turn it shows a lack of care for entertainment in general. In a way, FPS games being the most popular shows a negative aspect about the general population.
Say what you want but I bet the majority of people that fought in a war or had to endure and live through a war WOULD NOT spend weeks playing a game that would cause them to relive their horrors in a safe environment for just entertainment purposes.
Why do people like FPS games where you just shoot stuff with guns all the time?
