(Not counting the Souls games as JRPG's, since they're not.)

C: It's been a total wasteland for this genre since FFX. 12 was a bust; 13 and its iterations have been an even bigger joke. Every other JRPG series has degenerated into low-budget, kitschy crap.

FFX has got to be the worst FF that I have the misfortune of playing. FFXII was an improvement in literally every possible way.

No they're not. Don't be stupid. The Souls games are western-style action-RPG's. They have none of the design characteristics of JRPG's whatsoever.
