FFX is overrated. Combat system was fine but the story was horrible with one dimensional characters.
Like 99% of JRPGs.
FF13 and 13-2 are probably the best this gen as they aren't hampered by archaic design.
The current FF games have easy to grasp but full of depth, non-static, cinematic battles/systems.
Grinding is there but not as necessary as most jrpgs. Most gamers don't want to grind for hours only to face some super boss who does an lol attack and crushes your party making it feel like you wasted hours of your life.
Quality. FF13s are two of the better looking games this gen where as most jrpgs look rather weak in comparison. FF13s eccel in character design, sound, music, settings and the story.
Time management. Most jrpgs you would spend hours playing and accomplish very little. In FF13s do to its linarity, quick boss fightd, cinematics and such you can pop it in play for 30 minutes and feel like you peeled back another layer of the story. And FF13S are pretty long games.
