This gen wasn't really that good because of the advent of First Person Shooters (every other game on the 360 is in this genre), terribly done motion control (or should I say lack of control), tacked on multiplayer for games that don't need it (Mass Effect 3 and Bioshock 2 are 2 that come to mind), and these "Online Passes" that EA made hugely popular that require a code for you to experience the game as it was supposed to be, even if it's a single player game (Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2, and Kingdoms of Amalur come to mind).
I've enjoyed the indie game scene with Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Issac, Minecraft, and others that I failed to mention, and that's the only thing that seems to give original ideas on a regular basis.
Currently playing: Pokemon Black 2, Dishonored (360), The Walking Dead (PS3), The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Tekken Tag 2 & New Super Mario Bros. U.
