What would have been the cost of developing Xenoblade and The Last Story on the PS3 and/or 360? The same cost that Factor 5 and a handful of other developers paid this gen, perhaps?

Factor 5 closed because they released a lack-luster game within the console's first year (meaning there wasn't a huge audience to sell it to). The amount of hype Lair had would've made it a success if it had taken another year in the oven...

because if the wii has 95% garbage shovelware games then the remaining 5% are games we all care and want and its not fair because you then have to buy a garbage system to play a few amazing games.

Xenoblade is just "well polished", but it isn't "amazing" or remember worthy in any degree, unlike Nier, which I will remember 10 years from now for certain, where as I have forgotten the names of all but one character from Xenoblade.

And 95% of all games on PS3 are crap too, maybe not shovel ware, but why should I care if it's Wii Fit 2 or AC 41254 or CoD 4354654? I won't buy none of the games.

Nier has been called the greatest RPG of this generation or past decade by many western media outlets and gamers. Nier mostly gets praise for the soundtrack and story, but not for the gameplay. Gameplay is the most important aspect of any game, and Xenoblade does that part a whole lot better than Nier.

In terms of gameplay/story/music, Nier is more like 5/9/9, while Xenoblade is more like 9/8/9.

In that case, they should have made it for the PC for teh awesome grafix!!!!

I'd give XC more of a 7 more gameplay. It gets pretty tedious at some points and some of the party members' AI is atrocious.
