Why do gamers with a huge blacklog buy games when they have unplayed ones?

It's not like those new games are going anywhere in the next few months or appreciate in value (for most cases). I mean, think of where that money can go to.

1. Limited editions.
2. Niche-ey games that may only have a limited production run.
3. Anticipation for a game beyond anything in their backlog.

If none of those three are satisfied, sure, I'll wait until it's cheaper.

Many of us with backlogs will buy the games when they're cheaper anyways, or buy them used for under $20. Plus around this time of year you see some huge deals with prices that you won't see on most games for months down the line. It's as if you think that everyone with a backlog is slapping $60 each time.

Doubtful. He's so repellant, even he won't touch himself.
I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.

2 reasons:

I'm not poor and I have more money than time. ATM I have about 80 games something as a backlog.

One reason could be from single or few-day sales.

but you guys are just adding to a collection that will most likely be never played entirely.....seems like a waste too be honest, like a girl that keeps buying shoes even though she has a collection.
