Wow this guy... Really Dark Souls for PC? What a piss poor port, in fact one of the worst ports ever. The modders had to step-in and optimize the game what it was capable of (1080p, 60FPS, etc.).


it's actually a "perfect transition". it's 1 for 1 the PS3 game... just on pc and that's what the people wanted. it's not a great PORT, I agree, but it never wanted to be one. the mod is awesome tho. makes it even better.


Like I said, what makes Dark Souls Game of the Year on PC if it was ported at 720p and 30FPS and it's a f***ing PC game. Inexcusable.


it was not PORTED. you expected something that it wasn't ever going to be. it's a PC VERSION, not a PC PORT.

it's like the ps3 version, and the ps3 version was GOTY 2011 for me - why is it worse again because it's not up to the full potential of a pc?


The PC version was a PORT of the console version thus resulting console-like visuals/performance with internal resolution of 1024 by 720 and 30FPS. My gaming rig can run games such as Battlefield 3, Witcher 2, Skyrim and etc. on max settings, 1920 by 1080 and most of them on 60FPS yet here I am playing Dark Souls for PC on 1024 by 720 and 30FPS... pathetic.

PC gamers such as myself have high standards. Modern Warfare 2 was Game of the Year across the consoles but on PC, na-uh because it lacked mod support and dedicated servers and doesn't deserve GOTY for PC.

that's the fault of your expectation, not the game's fault.

They wanted to make the console game playable on PC, they didn't wanted to alter the game specifically for PCs at all.

and I agree that the mod makes the game even damn better, but that's just a bonus.
