What do you honestly think is the biggest problem with JRPGs today?

but small screens are way worse and more annoying and why would i want to play games on a portable at home when i have real consoles like the ps3

First off, do you have a source to back up your claims about small screens being worse for your eyesight?

Secondly, because there are more good RPGs on the portables. I play my portable system at home all the time. I've probably spent 3 time more time on my portables than my home consoles this gen, and the vast majority of that is at home.

Also, you can play portables while someone else is watching TV, which is very nice. No reason to play couch commando.

When I buy an RPG for a console, I rarely ever beat it. When I buy one for a handheld, I usually put hundreds of hours into it.

Nothing is wrong with JRPGs today and people just complain too much and/or are blinded by nostalgia

I can't believe this is the most voted for option. I thought for sure it would be the cliche's (which JRPGs are riddled with)

Also the first and second option are pretty much the same thing.

I've accepted the fact that there will always be some cliches no matter what.

Also, it's hardly a problem exclusive to JRPGs. WRPGs are even worse IMO. Pretty every WRPG's plot except for Planescape: Torment and the Fallout games is "Fight the slumbering evil/prevent it from being awakened." Usually it's a Demon/God, sometimes it's a dragon, and at least once it was a race of Cthulhu ships.
