Try The Sabotuer or Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. (Both sold about a million btw)

Also, try Demon's Souls (I know it's kinda popular, but if you haven't played it yet, do).

I second Valkyria Chronicles.

I'd say the Yakuza series fits into "Under-the-radar" pretty nicely, damn fine games too.

3D Dot Game Heroes, it's a Zelda parody/clone.

The Darkness 1/2 are pretty short little blasts of fun as well
