I'm not sure how I feel about the PS4 yet because there'll still be so many great games between now and then that will still be fresh and relevant. I only like to move on to the next gen system when the current gen has little to interest me anymore. Knowing Sony, I doubt that the PS4's launch line-up will be as impressive as all the late 2013/early 2014 PS3 games that are coming out. And it's unlikely that the PS4 will even have backwards compatibility. If I can't transfer my PSN account and play all of those full PS3 games that I have on my downloads list then I'm definitely not interested. Hopefully Sony let me change my account name when I make the transfer though. Then again, I love fighting games, but I doubt the PS4 will have any for a while. Though a Playstation All-Stars 2 as a launch title would be sick.

The Vita launch shows that Sony will be going big in the launch window. Keep in mind that we don't have what most of the Sony studios are working on.

So the next-gen Playstation will be released around early 2014 (late 2013 for Japan). I hope this verified info is the real deal.

How is this any kind of Verified Info, aside from what we already knew about the Destination Playstation event?

This verifies nothing.

"An announcement of the next-generation PlayStation gaming console would fit with the scheduling of a release to the public in 2014 given past release trends from Sony."

Complete speculation, no tip whatsoever, just the writer creating speculation on the possibility and hope of an announcement at the event.

The Vita's launch line-up was underwhelming. There were only a handful of actual full-quality games. The rest were just glorified mini-games and ported PS3 games.

I really cant take a link from 2 and a half years ago seriously as proof of anything. heck there are pages on that site saying the ps4 was going to be in development by the end of 2011.......
