I want to know if anybody else has also bought less used games this gen compared to previous gens since last gen I bought 20-25 used games altogether for PS2, XBOX, Gamecube, and PSP. While this gen I bought maybe 2-3 used games in total for PS3, 360, and Wii.

Edit: I think it's because they are printing a lot more copies of games then they used to since I only buy used when they don't have anymore new ones(at a price that is the same or lower then the price it came out for). Also for the fact that any games that I know don't get a lot of copies I buy day 1 like NISA games.

More than half the games I own were bought used, and the rest were all bought at prices far below the crazy release prices. Last gen my parents bought half my games for me but the new/used proportion was about the same in the end

Yeah I only buy a few games at full price/day 1 most I buy are 50% off or more of the day 1 price since new copies going on sale are cheaper then used on Amazon and other online stores. Which is another reason why I might of bought less also for the fact I don't have anymore rental stores near by before I could find a game that's hard to find dirt cheap because it was a rental (I check for scratches and stuff on the disc if it's clean then I would buy it. For the box I don't really care about those that much so it didn't matter if it was one of the Blockbuster ones) .

My PS2 library contains over 80+ games in it, of which I would say 30 of them were obtained in BRAND NEW condition. All else was obtained in some sort of 'used' fashion. I dont have anywhere NEAR as many this gen between my 360 + PS3 (maybe 12~ total 'used' games between those 2 systems)

In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

Well, I've been there since the NES/Atari 2600. My first console was an Atari 2600 and I never owned a NES, but I did play it at friend's or relaive's houses. After that we got a Mega Drive (European Genesis) and kinda the same thing with the SNES (never owned one, but got played it plenty of times). Then after that the same thing... we got a Playstation, played N64 at friends/relatives. Only really played Saturn at some stores, but I did beat Clockwork Knights 1 & 2 and some other games on it.

We sold our Mega Drive stuff at some point, but my bro bought a whole lot of old stuff again a few years ago and built a whole retro collection. As for me... don't really have the money or space for such a collection, might do it if I end up with a nice job.

retro collecting is so f***ing expensive, with all the scalper types on eBay causing all the rarer games to shoot up in value.

it's kinda why I got my Neo Geo collection done and dusted (i don't have them all. Just the ones that i wanted).... most expensive gaming system...period
