BroMegeddon FPS vs. JP Loli**** JRPG: The Eternal Struggle
Pre-apologize for the short rant. What is it with this board in that it seems like there always has to be this line in the sand where "American Brofist" is on one side and "Japanese Loliporn" is on the other?
Do the people who love JRPGs seriously hate all action movies/ Games? Do the people playing FPS really hate anything without a machine gun in it?
Personally, I have a film and game collection that spans everything from Predator, Aliens, Robocop, Call of Duty and Halo to Oldboy, Porco Rosso, Battle Royale, Zelda and Kingdom Hearts.
Is anyone else like this or do you have to pick one side?

W/JRPG is my favorite genre but I have a very diverse collection also. i have a 360, a PS3, and a Wii plus some older systems. I play games from CoD,Halo, and Battlefield to Street Fighter, Legend of Zelda, and Final Fantasy. I never did get where all of the hate comes from. Also 504 FTW lol.
What you mean like a military shooter/all action macho camp and a Japanophile camp? The typical west vs east gaming divide?
-Be attitude for gains-
Its not really about sides its about people not willing to adapt to certain changes. Or they can't seem to tell the difference between what is a GAME and what is REALITY.

No. It's not really like that. Just so happens that the ignorant cry babies that feel that way are very vocal here. I play COD one day. Then maybe I feel like playing Legend of Dragoon or FF. Hell, I just finished an 80 hour playthrough of FF IX a few months ago. I love Borderlands, also love Catherine lol. What can ya do? There's a lot of regionally challenged posters here.
Regardless of how many people call me a troll I always speak the truth.
Currently playing- Magic 2013, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Black Ops 2, Demons Souls
I like RPGs and action movies. I don't mind shooters just as long as they're third person. I just don't like high action games in first person. I don't like not being able to see around my guy immediately. I hate getting stuck on something in the map and not immediately know why.
Or it could just be preference. Some people like the "BroMegeddon" style more than the "Lolipedo" style.
It would be nice though, if once in awhile, you could get a game that is typically done in either style, and make it in the opposite style. A "Call of Duty" done in a Lolipedo style, or an RPG done in a "BroMegeddon" style.
I sometimes feel as though life is a curse that has been placed on the living. I envy the unborn at times.
I own a lot of games from different genres, but I don't own loliporn RPGs like a lot of this board.
I finally won a mod dispute. Too bad it got overturned a day after my suspension ended.
I own and enjoy hundreds of games, spanning every single genre. The only genre in which I've never enjoyed a game is RTS. I'll never judge a fan of them though.
Now playing: Final Fantasy, Alice: Madness Returns, The Walking Dead, Far Cry 3, Contra III, Okami HD
Lolled at BroMegeddon. Totally the right word for Gears of War series (which I love). I used to love RPGs too, but they have kind of fallen since the PSone and PS2 days.
I played Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon and a few others, I just didn't enjoy them as much as I did FF9, FF7, FFX, Chrono Cross, Vagrant Story, Shadow Hearts, Wild Arms, Suikoden, etc. Also, some of the Lolli stuff is really off-putting. Not sure I can see the merit of a 14 y/o in clothes 3 sizes too small which can barely contain her ample rack action. It's kind of funny when you see it at first, but at the end of the day, it doesn't add to the game and many Japanese games do it now (when its completely unnecessary). It doesn't help that many in the fanbase LOVE it. I find that those two factors push potential fans of JRPGs away (do you really want to be seen to be associated with potential perverts? I'd prefer the brofist action...lame as it is, it's better than being labelled a pervert, no?).
I might add that some games like Soul Calibur and Ninja Gaiden completely take things too far. It's kind of embarrassing to get seen at some points playing it, as it looks like nerd porn. I've got no problem with porn, but there is a time and a place. TBQH, I'd rather be watching real porn than the lame crap many games thrust at you - not like its that hard to come by.
