People here want a mature story, but from what I've seen their favorite JRPGs are those like Tales of Vesperia. Is it mature presentation that people want? Or can we be interested in something other than saving the world, like racism and real-life issues?

RoF was pretty mature.

And why do people generalize? ELEMENTS of virtually any story can be mature. It doesn't have to be the whole thing.

What do you mean?

Tales of Symphonia has elements of racism AND saving the world, but most people would still consider it immature.

I actually prefer "save the world" stories in RPGs, no matter how cliche they are.

One of the main reasons people like Tales of Vesperia is because it has a mature main character

I still want my idea of a game starting off with a Husband returning home, to see his wife eating their baby.

Morbid and wrong, yep, but it is a very nice opening to the kind of JRPG I have in my mind for a horror twist. It's kind of funny honestly. I have the game even pictured, animation style and how the battles would work. God, it looks so awesome in my mind, and I have had it on my mind well over a year now.

Persona 3 had the "save the world" theme, but it was done in a much more mature and dark way than what I normally see in JRPG, I liked it.

Cool idea. His wife is eating their baby, and when the husband loudly confronts her, her hair starts to grow rapidly and overtakes the house.
