Was goading him back into the argument he was avoiding, which I suspect he was doing because it is harder to rebut "those aren't mechanical changes; just new features" than it is, "those changes aren't big".
So you want me to argue what mechanical changes have been to Call of Duty series over the years? --- Everything's shiny, Cap'n. Not to fret.
It's very popular. And when something is popular, some people that hate it feel that it's popularity is going to be the death of entertainment/art. It's like Justin Bieber. Yes, something that some people don't like may be popular, but this isn't a new phenomenon and the entertainment industry hasn't gone extinct over it yet. If it can survive the Macarena and Jersey Shore, it can survive anything. I would agree that the last two Modern Warfare games sucked large bags of genitals, but I didn't lament the death of the video game industry over their popularity. I just put them down and played one of the countless good games this gen that have no relation to COD. Plus, the COD series is still good when Treyarch has the reins.
Basically, people need to calm down, breathe, and open their eyes and ears a little when it comes to finding good entertainment. You might need to dig for like 5 whole minutes, but it's worth the struggle. --- http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/NIR_Hockey.png http://www.last.fm/user/hockeybub89/ Bears Beets Battlestar Galactica
I thought MW1 was OK but couldn't play it long before I got claustrophobic. I played COD2 once for as long as I could bear it and watched my friend play it for hours and thought it was very immature.
Beyond that, I don't pay attention to COD enough to have an opinion about the game/s themselves. But; while SOME of the people I know personally who play COD are sharp people, probably most people I've encountered overall who are in to it drive me insane with there overwhelming arrogance and stupidity.
I guess this comes from being so deeply involved in the world of firearms. I have designed and built working semiautomatic firearms from scratch, practically have an AR-15 workshop and used a firearm in self-defense more then once. This is my world. I am regularly getting preached to by COD nuts about about weapon capabilities, functions, tactics etc. and in incredibly rude ways too. On top of that, in the process of all this, they often say things that indicate they've never fired a gun in their life. Kinda like the 40 year old virgin talking about women's breasts feeling like sand bags. I know a few 10 and 11 year old kids who are more knowledgeable and level headed on the matter then some of these guys. But that is almost entertaining. The REAL problem I have with these folks is that they are very often glorifying butchery and encouraging those around them to do so. In other words, there's allot of "war mongering" among COD fans. And a few of them I know of have even gone out and joined the military to "kick butt" under the guise of actually caring about there country. Good for them I guess. Nothing takes you off of your high horse like real combat experience. --- 'In this great world full of stuff that's neat there is one thing that cannot be beat. I hate Fox News. Loathe it. But guess what, I DON'T FREAKING WATCH IT!!!!
I hate both Obama and Fox. Neoconservatives and liberals are two different flavors of the same nonsense. But that's for a different discussion. --- 'In this great world full of stuff that's neat there is one thing that cannot be beat. It's the feeling so sunny when your squeezing a bunny" ELMYRA DUFF
From: Rishah0078 | #047 but it bothers me personally that they release it every year despite the lack of change.
I wish they would do this with RPGs. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. --- 'In this great world full of stuff that's neat there is one thing that cannot be beat. It's the feeling so sunny when your squeezing a bunny" ELMYRA DUFF
