Physical copy or digital? Which do you prefer?

physical, but it would be nice if i was allowed a free digital copy for owning a physical copy.

I dont have to spend 4 hours waiting for it to download

That depends on the size of the game and your internet speed. Though I never waited that long for a digital download of any game whether if it's a older game or if it was a PS3 related game. All of the downloads I done was complete within a hour or less, pretty much less time it'd take for me to go to a Walmart, get the game and head home.

However if the day ever comes where it is truly digital only I will simply adapt.

True that. Though some it may take longer to adapt than others.

until the day comes that either the games get smaller or Canadians get increased bandwidth usage its pretty much going to be the end of Canadians gaming lol. Finding an internet company that provides up to 120 gigs is frankly nightmarishly difficult and at times unbelievably expensive and at times thats only like 5-7 games O_o. Theirs been months where I've easily burned through more than that in physical purchases >.>

Much more likely your going to find most providers maxxing out at around 60 gigs and thats like 3 games if thats all you use it for, and if your like me then its far from the only thing you use it for >.>

When all games go digital, the server loads start crashing the host servers for them, the games will stay just as expensive even though it costs no where near as much as the physical copy does to make, you start having glitchy DLs that corrupt the game and it doesnt tell you till it's done and forces you to delete and redownload again, realize that you no longer are getting free pre-order bonus' and now have to pay for stuff that was or should be free inclusions, cant return a game if you dont like it, cant lend it to your friends to try, and the innevitable oops HDD died get them all again and waste a crap load of time doing it happens then we'll see how quick your tune changes on this "adapt business". Especially if your in Canada and have bandwidth restrictions that are useless >.>

Again I said I prefer physical. I'm not in favor of digital but it won't stop me from gaming.

Strictly talking about myself here I'm an offline gamer 99% of the time. Unless there is a 100% online all the time DRM connected to the game and the servers impact my single player only games that wouldn't be a large issue for me.

I have yet to have a single corrupt DL and I have plenty of digital patches, DLC, and PSN titles. Can it happen? Of course it can. Again though it wouldn't stop me from gaming.

I don't return games. I have been gaming over 30 years and don't buy games I don't like. I know my own tastes. I like all my games I buy.

As for the HDD it wouldn't impact me. I play one game at a time and move on. When my first PS3 got YLOD it never bothered me losing all the game saves and associated content because I was done with the games and was never going to play them again anyway.

There are many reasons I prefer physical copies. Ultimately though if it comes down to digital or quit gaming I will still buy digital games. That is all I'm saying.

Physical for consoles and digital for PC.

The day that consoles go digital only thats the day that console gaming will die.

Physical, I simply like owning something I can hold in my hands, but like others in this topic, I know digital only is coming, there's just to much benefit for the companies, and I will adapt.
