Whats the better time and money investment: video games or photography?

And why? What would you spend more on?

The one that interests you the most and for me it would be video games.

Which do you like more? Is photography a hobby or would you like to take it further? Do you want to travel and see the world?

I guess if you travel around the world taking photos that's cool, but if you're taking black and white pictures of grass and old ladies and rocking chairs in your neighborhood then forget it and get a PS3 lol

I still like VG but over years and years blowing money on games, you realize theres no benefit from it. You dont gain any skills or get any rewards from it long term.

Of the two VG is still the more expensive hobby to get into heavily. Prof DSLR cams are cheap now and you gain lots of skills from learning about becoming a good photographer. These skills can be used in many ways in life.

I like games still but dont like where the industry is headed. 2012 was a quiet year for me, of all the games i played i only ended up keeping 1. I used to be a heavy gamer but honestly i think im burnt out with this gen and dont even know if id buy the next gen consoles. Lots money wastted on games over the years, no rewards today.

Who cares about skills unless you want photography to be more than a hobby? If you have more fun with gaming then stick with games. Unless you want to travel the world. That's what I want and hope to do someday.

My dirty mind tricked me into reading that last word as pornography.

Personally though, I think that video games would be a better investment since I've come across a lot more video game collectors than photography equipment collectors.

Something that is worth thinking about is whether you want to share your hobby with anyone else - personally I enjoy talking games with my friends, but I doubt any of them would hold much interest if I took up photography and wanted to talk about it.

"I shot this using a wide aperture."

"I don't give a s***."
