For reference, the Japanese version sold about half a million copies on the DS and another half million on the PS3. That's higher than Xenoblade or The Last Story even managed in Japan.

Now, in the US I think it may be a harder sell and I don't really see a big marketing push for it or even a decent word-of-mouth campaign like Xenoblade had. On the other hand, it's also available at several different retailers. If they'd put a bit more into marketing it to kids (TV ads during children's programming blocks, etc...), like it was in Japan, it could really do some good business I think.

My own personal estimate is somewhere around 130,000 units, but I would love to be wrong and see it sell more.

Really? It only sold 67k on the first week in Japan.

I highly doubt that it jumped from 67k to 500k...

Now, first of all, it does say that "Ni No Kuni" sold over 500,000 units. Unfortunately, what a lot of people have misconstrued out of this comment, is that they were talking about the DS Version, and not the PS3 Version.

Okay, I was mistaken. It sold 200,000 and that's before you include the figures for the All-in-One edition. I had misinterpreted something I read from a statement Akihiro Hino made. The DS version actually sold 600,000 it seems. So nearly a million in combined sales.

if NIS games can pull off 80-140k I pretty sure nino can do 200k plus.
