Why did it take years for SSBB to drop $20 in price, but PSASBR only a month?

PSASBR is easily the better game. More originality, better aesthetic and characters. Is it because it has sold so much already that they dropped the price?
I finally won a mod dispute. Too bad it got overturned a day after my suspension ended.

Nintendo games almost NEVER drop in price.
Proving a rational point with irrational action.

I think it's because Nintendo has a tendency to not discount their games often, if ever. I mean, games that came out early on in the Gamecube's life cycle were still going for $40-$50 until almost the end of the Gamecube's life. It's just what they do.

At least, that's my theory on it, from working in the video game department of a store for pretty much the entire generation of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. Third-party stuff for Gamecube would drop like normal, but first-party Nintendo-made games stay higher for a lot longer.

Yeah, but why would Sony drop the price of PSASBR so fast? It's easily the superior game in every aspect. It will be on the competitive fighting scene for years to come, while SSBB is already forgotten. Just wait for this year's EVO.

Nintendo hardly ever drops the prices on their first party titles.

A lot of Nintendo titles are still expensive used, MK Wii and NSMB are still like $30 used.

I wouldn't say that, during this past gen they released all of their first party titles at $50 while Sony and Microsoft released them at $60.
