I honestly don't understand "backlog gamers"

I dont get how yall just buy every game in the world and keep it behind a stack of other games waiting to be played. It seems like yall just force yourself to speed play through games to get to the other. That, said ,yall taking away the experience of the game on yourselves. And the fact that each game is just taking time away from others, if its actually a good game with replay value. Sorry to say guys, but yall have a disease: hoarders syndrome.

2 things:

1. Media overload now a days. Between games, movies, books etc. There is simply too much to do. Combine that with:....

2. I simply don't have enough time to do all these things like I use to. Growing up is cool in some ways but Sufis in others I guess.

Hope you understand.

I don't get it either. I play stuff cause I genuinely want to play. If not, I store it away and might never touch it again. Whether I finished it or not doesn't really matter to me.

I'm sure I have several games I never finished, but I don't consider them a backlog. I consider them the past.

You don't have to play everything. Just pick and choose the stuff that looks the best to you, then play them one game at a time until you're finished and then move on to another game.

Work keeps me busy so I have little time for games at the moment but when I do get the chance I will dive in and play the game until I get the platinum or grow sick of the game.

The games I typically buy are older games that go for around $20 brand new. I will spend $60 on a new game if it really interests me or I am a huge fan of the series. These types of games tend to be bumped to the top of my backlog list.

Normally I will have around 3-5 games in my backlog at any given time.

It just sort of sneaks up on you.

When you're a teenager and you've only got a handful of games and you can't afford too many new ones you just manage to get through everything thoroughly.

Then you're in your twenties, have money and suddenly lack the time to play all your games. And that's how backlogs grow :p

Why does there have to be a set of rules to how you can play your games and what not?

Kinda contradictory. Why would you buy every game you see when you know you have no time to play em all. Gotta make sacrafices

Certain actions make more sense than others. If you wanna call those actions "Rules", that's fine, but it's not like anyone is saying you "HAVE" to do it that way.
