FF7 and FF10 had the best combat systems.

*thinks of FFXIII's combat system*

This. FFXIII's combat system was so bad it gives me chills.

Read the mania:
In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

Standard is best. FF7, 8, 9, and 10 all had perfectly fine combat systems. Even 11 has great combat even if it were an offline rpg. 12 and 13 messed it up.

FFVII, FFXII, FFT, FFV, and FFIV had my favorites. VIII was mixed, IX was a good system but the battle speed was way too slow, and X had a really generic system IMO, but it was still kind of enjoyable compared with the rest of the game. XIII doesn't exist.

They are also the most successful Final Fantasy games to date.

Why do JRPG's always change things instead of going back to their roots? If it aint broke don't fix it.

I would have to go with X-2 as well
I once worked with a guy for three years and never learned his name. Best friend I ever had. We still never talk sometimes.

I didn't like X's system; it was too simple. Fast enemy--switch in Tidus... Flying enemy-switch in Wakka... Boring.

FFVII also had the best limit breaks in the series.

While I agree to an extent, the great thing about Final Fantasy (before Enix ruined the series) is that each game IS different. Nobody would play them if the only differences between one or the other is the characters.
