Yeah, FFXIII is the ultimate hallway fantasy game.

It makes FFX and FFX-2 seem like non-linear open world games in comparison.

I think it was also to do with being able to revisit places in X and in X-2 you get an insane amount of crappy missions in towns that aren't "hot spots" so you basically have to check every location every chapter. Man that game was a trainwreck.

And then they brang out XIII. My least favourite FF stood corrected.

I personally think they're both the same as far as hallways go. What makes FFX better is everything else. The locations are actually interesting, the story is better and it feels less monotonous.
