i like the graphics (obviously) but the game plays like pokemon for real...

i just want a new jrpg with an old school vibe to it.

i'm thinking DQ8 or something....

what kind of old school vibe are you talking about?

if it's turn based then ninokuni's battle system mixes turn based with real time
if it's world map and exploration, ninokuni has that in spades
if it's loads of sidequests, secrets, hidden stuffs on the world map, special monsters that appear at specific part of the map (remember those times when we go to certain parts of the map to fight certain monsters? cant get more nostalgic than that), secret dungeons and more then ninokuni got loads of those as well

i dont know about you but so far, ninokuni has given me tons of old school vibe to look forward to

if you're looking for 100% turn based then i dont know what to say

And I feel Ni no Kuni is this generations DQVIII, reminds me a lot of it.
