I'm having the same issue with Dredd. It won't play on any of the PS3s I have tried to view it on. I have returned it once to Best Buy and the second disc still does not work on any PS3, but will work on a stand alone Blu-ray player. The three PS3 consoles were a fat model 80GB and two different 160 GB Slim models.
Currently, I'm getting the 80029940 error code with the movie.
I found these solutions to the problem on other sites:
"I have same problem. I also have PS3 80gb. I found out that if I just put bluray in and keep on waiting 10+ minutes it finally loads disc. After that you may have problems to get it started but keep on trying and you will get it work. I hope this helps you too.
It gives many types of error. Red screen noting that you have to update your system, and this video doesn't work etc.
I hope this will be fixed by Playstation."
"Well that worked! It took 10 minutes to load the disc after that it worked without a problem. Many Thanks "
Sooo try that and let us know --- My first time and day in Jeuno and the first 6 hours of it is spent staring at a chocobo's butt.
Get the movie from somewhere besides Best Buy cause it seems people that bought the movie from other retailers are not having problems at all --- That does it! I have had it with these mother****ing trolls on this mother****ing board!!! -mercuryblade09

This^.I would suggest that because,it sounds like Best Buy got some bad copies of the movie based on TC's experience. --- PSN ID:gearhead32 I used to care but now I take a pill for that.I apologize for nothing.
