whats the deal with the numbers?

I'm wanting to get a ps3 and looking on amazon I notice all sorts of different model numbers....
Does anyone know of a decent guide to all these models? I somehow suspect it isn't as simple as bigger number=better.

Just find a ps3 slim...the older slim not the new super slim..and you will be fine.

Nothing really, outside of the console feeling cheaper made and having a louder disc reader. I think the original slim just looks better.

Yes. They stopped making BC models years ago.

But some game are available on ps stores.
Versus XIII is coming in 2014, GTA5 will be awesome, and PS4/Xbox 720 is coming in Dec. Lightning Return will be super awesome and I don't care what you think!
