Question about playing a PS2 on a HDTV

#1TaKun782Posted 1/13/2013 11:29:50 AM
Ok, so ive always wanted to know about this. I did try it out just a few minutes ago and of course it dose look a tad bit blurry when i play my PS2 games on an HDTV since PS2 games werent in HD back in the day after all. But since i dont know how it was like back then since i was still a younger kid, is there anything i could use in order to make PS2 games look a little better on my HDTV? I herd about getting a certain cable but i dont know what it is called...

Im getting kind of tired switching back to my old stereo tv anyhow just to play a PS2 classic, lol.

Yes it is, also when you do get it make sure you change the video settings on the PS2 to the proper one.

Anyways, can you give me a quick walk through on how to do that?

Oh ya, another thing... i know that the older systems had this feature to run games in a "Progressive scan mode". Basically that means for the certain games that had that, when used with component cable, would make the game look much better? Am i right on that so far?

I noticed that it wasn't nearly as bad as people led me to believe....plugging my PS2 finally into my HDTV. Makes it seem pointless to worry about playing PS2 games on the PS3...not much of a difference. In fact, probably better because with the HD resolution, all that does is show you how bad the textures are in clearer format....

SD is just fine, as long as you're using a good quality CRT television :)
