And? Games don't get pulled, movies don't get pulled, books don't get pulled.

Really? Huh...and here I thought the US banned media all the time...

Oh s***, I guess it does...

Thankfully there is only one game banned country-wide in the US (The Guy Game) but there are many that are banned on a local/state level.
It's only a matter of time until games have to deal with the same censorship issues.
Playing - Far Cry 3, Vanquish, Retro City Rampage, Valkyria Chronicles, Monster Hunter FU, Chrono Cross, Quantum Conundrum, Catherine

because parents fail at parenting and then blame society for there terrible children.

-US government: we need to regulate video games
-Me: isnt that what the ESRB and parents are for?
-Parents: violence in video games need to disappear
-Me: hey parents do your job educate your children and dont cave in to all there demands...>:[
-Parents: its society's fault

Did you notice that nearly every film in that list was banned in one city, one state, banned in nineteenth century, or unbanned? More importantly, where are these banned games? This is not some slippery slope that we're in danger of flopping down, there's literally A game banned country wide, and it was banned for underage nudity. No one is taking your video games, no one will be doing so in the future. I'm honestly a little shocked that we live in a world where we can buy games with graphic depictions of sex, violence, and the like at Walmart and 7-11, but people are concerned about video game bans. The things literally could not be more accessible or unregulated. We don't need to force a regulation to prove a point.

That's something completely different though. That was a legal issue, not because a group of people pulled something legal out of an area.

Gaming as a medium has grown. Just like the movie industry, there are games that are simply not appropriate for certain age groups, and content that some parents might not want their kids exposed to. Unfortunately, parents keep buying these types of games for their kids, it became common place, and now they and the media complain when something happens. What we don't want is a ban on games. We don't want certain types of games to be removed completely from store shelves, or edited just because someone's 10 year old may play it. Something has to be done, even if it's a temporary thing, to enforce the ratings enough to make people aware.
