This is a split board - You can return to the Split List for other boards.

By the end of its of life time PS3 will still cross 100 million mark. Amazing

It will be interesting to see if the wii stays in first place for this gen as the next few years go by. From what I have heard it has not been selling to well at all compared to the other two recently, so sony might take the lead in the next few years and be in first place again

You know how pathetic that sounds. Sony has to wait until both MS and Nintendo to move on to become number 1 for gen 7. Everyone who has enough sense would have already moved on by then. The PS1 and PS2 didn't even need a full 10 years to get the job done. They didn't even need 5 years. Hell the DS is not even 10 years old and it already matching the PS2 in total sales. Like I keep saying only insecure fanboys give a crap about this. The fact is Sony screwed up. It's better to hope that Sony return to form with the PS4.

That is such bad damage control. Sounds like you're the insecure fanboy who's coming up with excuses with why, Sony winning this gen, doesn't matter because it didn't perform as well as the PS1 and PS2. Whatever excuse you come up with, the fact when the PS3 passes the Wii numbers, it will be the winner of this gen.

Not gonna happen sweetie;)

pretty much, it won't happen. not to mention it is taking a while for these systems to cross what PS1/2, GBA, DS, has achieved easily within 5/6years. 3DS will be the next thing to do that.

Logic dictates that it will happen. You can think logically, right? And it doesn't matter how long it takes.

More systems sold means more developer/publisher interest in that system. That means more games on that system, and more exclusives.

So even if you don't "own stock" you still benefit from your system selling more via a larger variety of games from which to choose.

Feel free to go buy an N-Gage or a Virtual Boy though, see if you start to whine about "no games" after a few months of that.

Little late in the game to use this argument. Next generation started already.

That explains why the Wii had all the cutting edge exclusives.

Is that why PS2 still got games when everyone stopped publishing for Xbox?

Numbers bring publishers and developers.

Nintendo hasn't embraced third party or their exclusives since N64/Gamecube. Only now with the Wii U are they getting back into regular third party participation. So you couldn't have picked a more irrelevant company to make an example of concerning third party publisher support in this gen.

All things being equal the system that sells more gets more games. No amount of ill-thought sarcastic replies will change that fact.

Wait... How exactly did you figure Nintendo is 1 for 5?

They dominated 3rd gen
They were more successful than all competitors during the 4th gen
They have never come close to losing in the portable console market
The DS is the best selling platform of all time
They outsold both competitors during the 7th gen
The 3DS is destroying the Vita in sales

Nopes.

They outsold both competitors during the 7th gen

Outsold? Last I checked both the 360 and the PS3 are outselling it and they haven't stopped selling.

The way it's going, this is going to be the 3rd generation that Nintendo loses.

And they are the ones in financial trouble. They should really cut off the dead parts of their company.
