Faulty Poll if you don't even have this game on it.

Not really. Sure I love the game, but it was obviously rushed. Disc 2 kind of ruins it from being best RPG of all time.

Before I even clicked on this topic, two games came to mind: FFVII and Chrono Trigger. But I had to pick FFVII over Chrono Trigger for one very simple reason: there's no difficulty in Chrono Trigger. Everything is completely straight forward, bosses are a cinch, and any battle that requires a trick or specific attack, or is even remotely challenging, is accompanied by hints or solutions without the player needing to do anything to get them. It's one of my all-time favourite RPGs, but it's too easy, much like Okami Vs Zelda. I like Okami way better than Zelda, but I can actually die in Zelda, whereas I've never actually seen Okami's Game Over screen, if it even has one.

Now on the same note, I consider FFVII to be one of the easiest Final Fantasy games in the series. But it still offers enough challenge to beat out Chrono Trigger, and the vast variety the game has to offer is unsurpassed by any other similarly-styled RPG, within the FF series or outside, so it gets my vote.

I dunno. I mean, I don't really enjoy how they handled Disc 2, but it didn't take away much.

It kinda felt right considering the world was going to ****.

The worst they could have done was made it all playable, but meaningless as you would be unable to stop most of the events. So what would be the point.

Final Fantasy VII - A Classic but not really my favorite in the series. I liked VIII and VI better

Chrono Trigger - Another classic but i'd put it under the above 3 FFs.

EarthBound Great game, but again not even the best in its series. Mother 3 was.

Super Mario RPG - Good game, but not a classic,

Pokemon Red/Blue
Secret of Mana
Suikoden II

Nah

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4

Awesome game but no.

OTHER

My favorite game of all time is Tales of the Abyss. I own the PS2 and 3DS copies of it, though my favorite method is to play it on PS2 EMulator in hi-res with reduced load times.

Final Fantasy 6 pulled that off really well while maintaining playability.
