Does far cry 3 run better on ps3 or 360?

Finally decided to pick it up. Ive heard it performs slightly better on 360. Is this true or is there no real difference?

Because the whole "cell blu-ray power" crap spewed early on about the PS3 was marketing nonsense. More than 1/2 the time games perform noticeably better on 360.

Seems Eurogamer gave 360 the edge for Far Cry 3. Make sure you read why though. Sometimes one system is declared better than the other for reasons you might not care about.

Because 360s hardware is easier to optimize games for. Most developpers dont put fourth the extra effort to make the PS3 version as good.

The reason behind this is because the cell is very hard to code for, and because of this most developers make the 360 the native platform and then port to the ps3. The ports end up crappy because they don't know wtf they're doing. The cell itself is actually extremely powerful, so much so that alot of organizations not related to gaming, notably the US airforce, have replaced some of their super computers with PS3 clusters. Games that are developed with the PS3 as the lead platform usually end up with the reverse being true.

That's an excuse. The real reason is due to the slow read access of the blu-ray drive and the system's split RAM. The super computer comment is cool but isn't really applicable. Just because a CPU is a good number cruncher doesn't mean it's good for games.
