217 MB size update for game on PS3 = 81 minutes to download = wtf Sony?

How is that even possible in 2012?

My 360 does downloads four times that size in 20 minutes

Yeah, it's pretty stupid. What's also just as stupid is 100-500 MB games having updates that are up to 80% of the size of the game itself. Well, game updates for PS3 in general are just insanely large for no damn reason, outside of developers being f***ing lazy and impractical.

In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

You may not be near the servers that you are pulling it from.

MS has theirs all over the place so it's much faster than PSN, while PSN is hit or miss depending on where you are pulling it from.

They're large for a reason. Every PS3 comes with a hard drive. Not every 360 comes with one. So Updates had to be small enough to fit on the memory cards or whatever.

Supposedly speed varies user to user, but my friends and I have always had ridiculously slow speeds when it comes to PSN. Everything else on my network works fine, I have no idea why PSN is so slow.

I love how you think both consoles work the same.
