Probably old, but what you gonna do?

EDIT: I can't post the whole article, but I found this interesting,

Most of the other systems shown to us from the game have already been heavily discussed, such as the 13 day countdown to the end of the world, but it’s worth clarifying that this can’t be navigated a la Majora’s Mask. While we’ve previously heard that certain actions will add or detract time to the countdown, you can’t actually jump backwards, meaning if you miss an event you’re going to have to play through the game again to catch it.

Toriyama explains: “You can’t turn back the clock or go against the passage of time and do it again, but this is the type of game where we expect the player to actually enjoy a few playthroughs at least. So if you think you have missed something you can go to that particular area and enjoy that experience on a new playthrough.”

Not sure how that's going to work, but a time limit on an RPG worries me.

I read the reason why they named it "Lightning Returns," and not "FF13-3" is for sales. 13-2 supposedly sold low because of the name implying they had to play 13 to know what was going on, and not naming this one 13-3 makes it seem like people who never played one of the 13's can play it and not miss anything.

I'm not a PR guy, so who knows if it's true or not.

I think it's probably just because FF13 wasn't a very good game.

The combat sounds like Kingdom Hearts and what Versus XIII is supposed to be like. Interesting stuff so far.

Yeah, I can't see this going well at all. More than likely it's going to sell the lowest of the three FF13s, and I hope to god that shows them they need to get the **** off Lightning and get on with Versus and leave this abomination 13 where it should be.....the trash pile.

I hate the damn time thing. It ruined Majora's Mask and the Atelier games for me, so this game has gone from "Must buy" to "Not even interested".

It's nothing personal, but I hate the damn time limit on RPG games. They ruin everything.

It selling the least of the three is a given at this point, as for redeeming Lightning, it's kinda telling that the creators are more enamored with her than most of them will ever be.
Anyone else get the feeling that all future FFs will have sequels? It would certainly explain Squares plans to have a yearly installment.

Time limits definitely ruined Majora's Mask, ugh.

Seriously, damn time limits have to be the most hated mechanic of video games - so why use such a cheap lazy ploy in 2013, good grief!

That sounds horrible. Aside from the linearity, plot, characters in FFXIII one of the main complaints was no backtracking or being able to revisit places.
