Do you think ni no kuni is gonna rock or gonna disappoint?

It is amazing, how active this board is. It's like I'm stepping into CE. Not even ngg is active like this. Or even the social boards.

I played the demo and it was fun, but there are some red flags that I have seen in a couple of reviews that would make the game a disappointment for me (and hence why I am probably going to wait to buy it). The supposed lack of save points and high encounter rate (yea, yea you can see them on screen but they come running right for you and are nearly unavoidable) are huge turnoffs.

I think it'll be like Xenoblade. A mixture of awe and disappointment.
A decent game overall.

From what I've seen it's very unlikely I won't love the game. A proper old school JRPG, yes please.

A..hem.

Anyways, I believe it will rock, but I've been a fan of Ghibli for ages and Level 5 as well.

Despite what they say it still looks like it will be a simple little rpg with a "cute" story. Overall not interested and feel like people are a little over excited for this game given how bad jrpgs have done this gen compared to our plethora of good ones from last gen.

It's far from simple nor is the story exactly cute, but to each their own.

I'd hate to feel that way. JRPGs have only improved this gen.

I want it to rock, gaming needs to prove again it doesn't take ultra-violent action to tell every damn story lately.

You go around killing innocent creatures.

They disappear in a puff of smoke when defeated. They don't shoot blood and guts all over.

And yes, the game will rock.
