Why does Capcom refuse to make a PS3 Monster Hunter?

Because it would be more expensive and it already sells boat-loads on handhelds.

The Monster Hunter series has never really sold well on Home Consoles, here in the US.

In Japan, the series is bigger then World of Warcraft on generally any console it sells for over there. But in the US, its only had marginal success on the PSP.

There was also the debate of development costs: Monster Hunter Tri was to be a PS3 game, but Capcom changed its mind & shifted the game to the Nintendo Wii; saying the PS3 was too expensive to develop for.

It's all about money :(

Capcom doesn't like Sony very much after the situation that happened with MHP3.

They didn't just sell out to Nintendo like so many think.

The 3DS has outsold the PS3 in Japan in the span of 2 years, so yeah.

Yeah, after what happened with MHP3 (Sony refusing to let it get localized), I don't think Capcom is going to make an MH for PS3 at all. I don't even know if there will be one for Vita or PS4 though.

Every HD game is Sonic 06.

Then why did they bother making a 360 game and an HD import only PS3 port

What 360 game? The MMO? Obviously if a JRPG is going to the 360 then it will have some form of MS involvement (giving money). And the PS3 game was just what you said it was, a port, not nearly as expensive as a creating an entirely new game for an HD system.

The 360 game (only available for Japanese 360's) was actually a port of Monster Hunter Frontier, which is a Japanese PC game. Neither made it over here, nor will they ever.

The HD import only comes in Japanese (thankfully the PS3 isn't region locked for playing games). Better off just buying the cheaper PSP version & downloading a free English Patch.

Monster Hunter games exist on several different consoles... The problem is, less then half of them are ever released outside of JAPAN. They only time a Monster Hunter game sells well in the US, is when it's on a Handheld.. so they continue to only give us Handheld ones.

It all circles back to "What gets them more money", whether the small US-fanbase agrees with it or not.
