Selling an asset is not something they can do on a monthly basis, or even an yearly basis. This isn't something they can do to get themselves out of the red every single time. This does not imply an improvement in the profitability of their operations at all. It's a smart move, but to think that Sony is turning around just because of this would be foolish.
I do wonder why the stock rose so much after the move though. The stockholders actually have faith in Sony.
