Guns or Games? Which would you choose to go?

Games. We could always use our guns to violently overthrow the government and get games un-banned.

Whereas you cannot use games to violently overthrow the government and get guns un-banned.

Guns. I don't know how America let itself get the way it did but I'm sure as Hell glad I don't live there.
Kid was sitting in her house watching Spongebob and got hit by a stray bullet. She wouldn't have been hit by a stray knife.
If you really want them, leave them in the hands of the Police. Just because people would get them anyway is no excuse to make it easy. We don't let them have child porn at the newsagents or meth at the chemist. Because if we did that'd be ****ing terrifying.

so compare the number of poor little children hit by stray bullets to ones killed by drunk drivers, and i bet you support legal status of alcohol despite it causing more problems than law abiding gun owners.

Stop using the comparison excuse and shifting the blame and ignoring the problem

One problem at a time. Alcohol wasn't made solely to get people drunk and it wasn't made specifically for drink driving. A gun has no other use than killing. I don't mind hunting so much though I think it is cruel in its own way but you don't go hunting with a hand gun and I'm pretty sure you don't use an AK-47.

Alcoholic beverages were... or are you going to tell me that the case of Ice House sitting at my mom's place was originally made to sterilize surgical equipment?

They can't help it. There is no logical way to justify guns so they have to try and distract you.

Yea, but quiet a few people are from another country.

I love the British, they are our allies, and have fought and died beside us Americans. But there is a good chance we would be ruled by them if we didn't have guns.

Imagine a force who tries to invade the US. Someone who tries to take what is ours. Now imagine a Nation armed and ready to defend itself.

I was raised with guns, shot my first at 8 years old. I respect them, and understand that they are a valuable tool to have.

Today criminals are given more rights than the victims they have affected, and the government wants to take one more right from us.

We have all but lost our first admenment, the second would be the obvious one to go.

Stand your ground on this America, this the people's land. Not the rulers.

huh? England you have left you alone after a while. They did for us up here in Canada. Being ruled by England because we didnt have guns is a tremendously bad arguement on your part. I honestly feel sorry for americans and there love of guns.

Or if we apply their "they'll get it anyway logic".
People will die of cancer anyway so there's no point in trying to cure it.

I thought they were made just to be had and enjoyed and getting drunk was just a by product.
I also don't care what kind of problems with alcohol your mother has, tell it to a professional, not me.

Can anyone explain how owning a gun can fight against government tyranny? In the 1800's sure, but now?

You have an ar or a pistol, the government could carpet bomb your neighbourhood. Should citizens have the right to own missiles and explosives?

It's outdated.

However, it cannot be changed. Too many guns exist in the population already. The country is screwed.

And please stop talking about gun crimes in the uk. I know a few guys who legally own guns, they're not banned here. We also have a broader definition of what constitutes a gun crime. A. Decommissioned weapon, no longer able to fire, would be considered a firearm offence if used to threaten someone. Would that apply in the us? Same goes for the violent crime stats posted earlier. A verbal threat to kill or hurt someone, without violent action taken, still counts.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics. All that should matter are these 2 stats.

Total number of homicides
http://www.nationmaster.com/compare/United-Kingdom/United-States/Crime

And total number of accidental deaths which stands around 500-1000 per year.

Chillingly though, there's a 1 in a million chance of a child related firearm accident occurring.

The "They'll get it anyway" logic is my favourite. Because when I was a teen and pissed off with the world I had only to click my fingers and I could have gotten an assault rifle.
In fact I bet there's a guy down the road selling them out his car trunk as I type. It's that easy.

*eye roll*
