Yup, those 22 untrained children couldn't defend themselves against a knife wielding attacker. Just like I said in my prior posts.

Like stated earlier, the same day the Lanza shooting occured, in China, a man stabbed 22 kids.

none of those kids died.

I guess they are all Shaolin kung fu masters

Like I said before, simply owning a gun does not automatically give you the training and the mindset to handle crisis situations under stress and in a surprise element.
Cops and military men can attess to this. It takes months if not years of continuous training.
And with a gun, there is the issue of friendly fire in chaotic situation.

You are really being incredibly stupid now....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
and about training required for handling these specific situations?

quoting Devilman: Cops and military will tell you it takes weeks and months of continuous training to be able to be ready for situations like that. Even with a month off, they say you lose it and it takes a while to get back. All of this was explained in that mocumentary.
Just because you own a gun doesn't make you an expert in handling crisis situations because you learned how to fire one on a shooting range herp derp. You need actual specific training for that and continuous training to stay frosty.

You have no proof that the guns were not secured.
If they were taken without permission, that is theft...period.

shot her with her guns...... ok.. if she didn't have the guns, he wouldn't be able to shoot her with her nonexistant guns

Okay, you can slaughter up posts and splice them together in weirdo ways.

Point is, without guns the weapon is switched. Banning guns doesn't lower violent crime, it just alters it. The one thing it does do is ensure that good people don't have guns.

A psycho with a knife is nowhere near as dangerous as one with a rifle. A person can stand up to a knife, or a crowbar, or a bat. If they're looking down the barrel of a gun at range defense goes out the window. A trigger finger doesn't get tired either.

You simply don't know how bad it could be with a knife.

Most people cannot stand up to those weapons, most people don't have that kind of training or mindset.

If they are looking down the barrel of a gun, then the best defense is......a gun of their own.

That is the problem right there, which I explained earlier. You think you need a gun because the 'bad guy' has one...because they are too readily available. If everyone carries a gun, a simple argument and fit of anger can lead to death instead of a broken nose. Great.

As for the question of knives, you're right - people let their imagination run away with them when they see a knife. But if you saw someone go to cut up a kid with just a knife and you did nothing, you'd be a coward.

Whose on "high alert"?

You're on high alert

You're the one whose escalated to insults. A sure sign that you can't handle debating guns.

I don't think you're mentally stable to handle guns.

Don't knock me for my opinion...

That's just a variation on the old "if everyone has guns, it'll turn into the wild west" arguments that anti-gun politicians have tried before. It never happens, the wild west never returns.

I don't think I ever said I'd let someone cut up a kid, so I don't really know what that's all about.

no one knows another person's emotional wear. if they are nearing their limit but not there yet, a few setbacks can trigger them but at the moment that you are with them, they are perfectly sane. such that it seems like just another day.

if the person is carrying a gun, they can kill many if they snap.
if the person is carrying a knife, they can be disarmed if they snap.

if no one is allowed to have guns, i have a much calmer mindset and do not need to be on high alert.
